The perks of Being a wallflower

Title: The perks of Being a wallflower

Author: Stephen Chbosky

Published: 1999

Pages: 224(paperback)

Publisher: Pocket Books

Genre: Young Adult

This is a book about a shy boy Charlie and the world around him. The whole book is written from his perspective in a series of letters to a friend which I think might be his diary. Charlie has some mental health issues. For some readers he might be unreliable narrator because this whole time you are looking out of a window which only opens through Charlie mind. Charlie falls in love with his senior in school cum his friend Sam. But she is not into him. Anyway both of them share  a beautiful friendship also.

Sam, Charlie and Patrick hang out together most of the time. Most of the characters go through some physical and mental trauma in there life that makes the reading a bit unrealistic. One thing I didn’t like about this book is that Charlie is 15-16 years old character but the way book is written it seems he is a 10 years old child.

I am giving this book 3/5 . This book is a  easy read if you want to pick this.
